Nurturing the next generation of healthcare talent

Bedfordshire Health and Care Academy was established in 2020 and has educated and inspired young minds, aged 14 to 18 about the variety of roles within the health and social care sector, inclusive of both clinical and non-clinical roles. Thus, helping students to make an informed decision about their future career and the multitude of pathways on offer to support them to reach their aspirations and potential.

In 2025 the Academy has been rebranded to BLMK Health and Care Academy. The mission is still the same but the academy now covers the Bedford, Luton and Milton Keynes area, while also opening its doors to learners over the age of 18 too. There are many different programmes of learning the academy has been able to offer either independently or in collaboration with system partners such as the BLMK Integrated Care Board. In turn, supporting the local community to accumulate skills, knowledge and experience necessary to step into a health or social care career..
